History

Founded in 1995 by Andy Johnson, Aerospace Instrument Support, Inc. was launched in Denton, Texas as an aircraft instrument, radio and avionics repair shop to complement the parts distribution company, Avionics Instrument Supply, he had previously founded. In time, the company has become a FAA/EASA Part 145 repair station and grown to serve a variety of general aviation, business, commercial, and government aircraft, including fixed and rotary-winged operators around the world. Today, Aerospace Instrument Support specializes in three major MRO markets: avionics, aircraft maintenance and component repair and continues to strategically expand.

Facility

Aerospace Instrument Support occupies several buildings on the Denton Enterprise Airport, including a 9,000 sq. ft. instrument repair shop/office, and a 15,000 sq. ft. aircraft maintenance hangar featuring a 28-foot door height to accommodate large, T-tail aircraft. The company is in the process of acquiring additional space to meet growing customer demand.

Aerospace Instrument Support is headquartered on the Denton Enterprise Airport (KDTO), currently the 8th busiest airport in Texas. The airport is located within the Denton city limits, only four miles from the central business district and 15 minutes north of the Texas Motor Speedway. Offering a 7,000 x 150-foot runway, plus a newly opened, parallel 5,000 x 75-foot runway and 24-hour operations, Denton Enterprise Airport relieves general aviation traffic from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport and Dallas Love Field, while also serving as a popular mid-continent aircraft refueling center.
